Anybody out there ever taken a blower apart?

I want to clean up and check out my Kenne Bell before I install it, and the only way I know to do that is to take it apart farther than I already have.

Has anyone done this and what are the pit falls I may experience?

I want to get to the impellers and check them out and clean them up.

I was hoping I could do this by taking off the back cover.

what you are showing in the picture there is as far as I got with my magnacharger, I did see a link on youtube showing how they did it, let me see if I can find it again, it looked fairly easy with the guy doing it, but I know if I tried, I would end up screwing something up.

its an eaton but he had it apart pretty quick...

Crap! I Can't watch the link till I get home.

I'm hoping that I can just take the back plate off, find some bearings that hold the impellers, then pull out the impellers and inspect and clean them.

If I end up taking it apart I will take a bunch of pics.

Yes you can. Also need mobile 1 synthetic grease for inner bearing. This is not a serviable unit from the dealer therefore they no real information.

Sorry talking about Eaton not KB. Would think grease is the same!

Wow. From the looks of that video it looks like I'd be better off taking apart the front of the blower instead of the back.

I wonder if I called KB if they would sell me some kind of breakout sheet for it? Like a one page chiltons manual or something.

I think you would probably have to tear it from the front, here is another kenne bell, but it looks like it's for the lightning.

I don't think I'm gonna take it apart.

I'll just clean it up the best I can when it's together.

Not sure when I'll be doing it yet.

since you are in Missouri, have you thought about driving to St. Charles and having Steige take a look and see what they can do with it? Not sure if you want to or can even port the KB's but he could inspect it take it apart and maybe even clean it up for ya...maybe.
