Also the 170 is mainly for those who install the electic fans. I am running dual 16" permacool fans from jegs. Crash! is running the derale fans. The deal with the 170 is to watch the operating temps of the truck and see where you are at.

Skid,

Would you mind elaborating on this a little? I am a bit of an amatuer in these matters.

Thanks Skid,
Rocks

You install electric fans so you can remove the one on the water pump. This will free up about 18 - 20 hp on our motors. I am not sure how much gain is on a NA motor. I will have pics up on my site soon.

UUUHHHHH, Maybe I did not phrase my question right. I have the underdrive pulleys and the derail fans. I have a 180 stat.
I have checked my coolant temps in various situations and it stays around 200 degrees after warm up and after hard driving.

What I was curios about was the temps you feel get the max H.P. out of our engines.

I am N/A for now.

I myself still have stock therm and mine peaks at about 94c in warm weather.

On a side note, anyone know how much air the stock fan moves?
