Question Pro Comp lift & 4 Wheel Parts

Right now, 4 Wheel Parts is offering free installation and free MX6 shocks with the purchase of the Pro Comp 4" lift.

They quoted me $1,867.14. Thats with the alignment and misc. parts. They also want the truck for 2-2.5 days.

Does anyone care to share their experiences with the lift and or 4 Wheel Parts.

The people I've talked to at the store in Sacramento have not exactly inspired me with confidence.

I have never had them work on my truck but I have bought many things from them. Those salesmen will haggle! Keep that in mind. If you want a cheaper price, just tell them. They will work you out a deal, they are like used car salesman, hehe. In all, I was very satisfied with the company. I had my procomp tires shipped to my door up here in PA in one day! They also beat everyone else's price on procomps and all other tires my size.

btw, sounds like you are going to have one nice truck!

Well,

the lift is scheduled for 3/17.

We'll see how it goes.

F150BOB,

I had my Fabtech lift installed by 4wheel parts and and very happy with their work.

BTW, you'll love those MX-6 shocks. I just put set on my truck and are so much better than stockers and the crappy Fabtech shocks. It will take some time to get them dailed in.

Thats a good deal for the lift, shocks and labor. I don't know how good the procomp lift for the f-150 is. Let us know how it turns out.
What other parts do you need to purchase that is included in that $1867? I was thinking it would come out to about $1725 with tax and alignment.

AntScrew,

The bill breaks down like this:

Lift 1549.93
Black Boots for shocks 17.98
Alignment 105.00
Cam Bolt Kit 35.99
Freight 9.50
Lubes/Cleaners/Towels 22.00
Tax 126.74

If I was paying for the install, I wouldn't do it. But, I will take a chance to save the $700 I've been quoted for the install. It is to bad that I'm dealing with a national chain, or any store for that matter, that makes me feel like I'm taking a chance buying there product.

Maybe, I'll get what I paid for?

Why are you paying for shock boots when MX-6s come with them????

Also, I think you could get out of paying for the alignment. I did. Anway they [4wheel parts] suck at alignments. I have taken my truck back twice to get it realigned. I am now going to have to take it to a 'real' alignment shop to get done right.

socalcrew,

You know, your right, we'll have to take off the price of the boots. Thanks for pointing that out.

Also, I think I will look into having someone else align the truck. They, 4 Wheel Parts, do make me a little nervous.

Good luck Bob, let us know how it turns out.

I definately would question the $$ for black boots, and whats with paying for the lubes, cleaners, and towels. $140 for the alignment with the cam kit is up there as well. I would think the $100 for an alignment would be sufficient including any kits they would need. 4wheelparts always seems to find ways to nickel and dime ya.

Truck should look great with the lift, get us some pics. I'm interested to hear how you like the procomp and the install because I may be lifting my truck real soon.

Bob,

I second what Ant said...I was originally gonna go with the 5" RCD and a 2" body lift but I'm now thinking I may go with the 4" Pro-Comp and that free shocks and install deal. Let us know how the Pro-Comp turns out, especially if it changes driveline angles, etc...Good luck with it though -

Well, the truck is in the shop. It has been almost a month since I ordered the kit, and I don't think they had it when I took the truck in.

You know, if I didn't think it was such a good deal, I would never have let them touch my truck. They do make me nervous, but, I figure I have a $500-$750 to fix any problems and I will still be OK. I know you take a big risk when you do something based mostly on price.... We shall see.

By the way, I have taken the before pics of the truck and I will post before and after when I get the truck back.

4 Wheel Parts called today, the lift is on, except for the shocks, they received the wrong ones and won't have the correct ones until tomorrow.

So, hopefully, I will pick it up tomorrow evening.

How did it turn out?

Can you get me a measurement from the ground to the highest point on your cab? I'm interested because I work downtown and the parking garage has a max. clearance of 7'. I might not be able to lift because there is nowhere else for me to park around here.

Who were you dealing with at 4wheelparts?
