Shock Life?

Shock Life?
Im trying to justify getting new shocks and was wondering what the typical life of a shock is? I know with the right type of driving they can last for the life of the car, but how long will it be before they start feeling mushy and useless?
I have the ORP and Towing Package which I believe has HD shocks. Does anyone know how long I should keep these? (I want Edelbrocks!!!)

I hear that most stock shocks are only good for 25 or 30k miles. I usually tryade them out after 35K.

Hmmm, I have 40k now. I think Ill treat the old girl at 50k to some new shocks. I was looking at the Ranchos and the Edelbrocks. From what I hear, the Edelbrocks ride better (ie not as stiff). Any comments on either?

I think you are completly justified in replacing the worn shocks As far as the Edelbrocks, you can't go wrong. Just plan a couple of hours to install them.
