Post 01 SuperCrew Torsion Bar adjustment

I appologize if this question has already been addressed but I could not find an answer as to whether or not the torsion bar adjustment can be (or should be) done on my SuperCrew (I hate that it's not level) Has anyone tried this? And if so.. what are some good choices for aftermarket shocks to compliment it? I don't have plans for a body lift anytime soon although I am looking into 33's on 15X10 inchers (which again, I haven't seen used) Any feedback is appreciated..

Sounds like you may be the first. Since it is basically the same truck as the extended cab underneath, you should not have any problems. Dont go more than 1" and get it aligned afterwards.

For the tires, without a susension lift with the 10" wheels you may get some rubbing from what I have seen from others.

For shocks, any good shocks like the Ranchos, Edelbrocks or bilsteins are good ones. I personally like the 9000s because they allow me to tune the shock to my taste. Also when towing, you can firm up the rear.

Hey LottaFords, if you're interested in 33x12.50's on 15x10 wheels, I've done it before with a 3" body lift and right now, CPDICE is selling a set of 33x12.50's on American Ealge 15x10 1189's.

Thanks sdiesel but like I said, I don't necessarily want to go with a lift just yet, perhaps I'll go with an 8" with 32 11.5's. I'm ighty particular about what brand tires I go with. Have had and do love BFG AT's and by the way.. what does that wheel look like? I couldn't find any at either American Eagle Alloy OR American Racing with more than a three number designator!

Go to www.4wheelparts.com or www.desertrat.com, they sell those wheels and have pictures of them, or better yet, he has them for sale on ebay, just go to automotive accessories and type in keyword: "F-150" and it will come up on like the second page.

Question

I don't know all the facts on your truck, but I do know that 15" wheels will not fit over the front brake calipers on my '97 4x4. Just wanted to make sure you knew that, because a salesman was trying to sell me a whole set until he called to order them and found out that info.

------------------
'97 F-150 Lariat Ext. Cab 4X4
  • White/Silver
  • 4.6L, Auto.
  • Tinted Windows/Bedmat/Toolbox/Lund Bug Deflector
  • 265/75/16 BFGoodrich on polished 16x8 AR-136's
  • Cat-back Dual Exhaust
  • Polar Bear Grille Guard

You can fit 15" rims on our F-150's with some grinding on the calipers. Some on the list have done it, sounds like more grinding than I would like to do on my truck. I'll stick with my 16"ers. Besides most tire man. are starting to wake up and offering some really cool tire sizes for the 16's.

------------------
97 4X4 Flareside 4.6 5-Speed, Superchip, ASP underdrives, Airaid, Dynamax headers, Borla Cat-back, 5% Tint, 285/75/16, 16x8 Baha's, Rancho 9000's.

Soon to come:
3" body lift, 315/75/16 BFG KO's

The 2x4s have springs in the front. Only the 4x4s have the bars.

I have a 01 Supercrew as well. Because of the front and back calipers, I'm pretty sure you'll need to go with min. 16" wheels. I searched for some time to find my wheels and was told the 15's would not fit. Looking at the rear wheels, there isn't much room between the caliper and the 16" wheel. Good luck.
