Yeah, I am really glad that I did this. Last night I considered putting the lock nut onto the replacement bump stop, and remembered why I didn't install it in the first place. You can't! The stock bump stop bolt must have a threaded hole or backside since it fastens into place without a nut, just the bolt.

When checking this out, I noted the indication on my lower control arm that the new bump stop HAD indeed been in contact with the arm. So the stock bump stop would have absolutely been in contact with it regularly and that is not its purpose.

i went to 3 kragens and 3 autozones and no one has these bump stops.

plus how do they come out, the hole in the bottom of the stock bump stops are right above the control arm and i can fit any tool in there.

Jack your truck up and let the wheels droop down so you can get a socket in there. Sacto will probably tell you how he did it.

Yep, get the truck lifted up a bit...that helps. If you get a very long extension with a 13mm or 1/2" socket attached, you should be able to get it on to the head of the bolt enough to start loosening it. I was able to get it out with my fingers once it was loose. But definitely YES, jack up the corner you are working on.
