Question Which kind of suspension lift to get

Well I have a 99 F150 2wd and my grill guard and dual exhaust prevents me from getting a body lift. And ive decided on a 2wd suspension lift. And I've been shopping around and have found several companies offering these lifts and I was just wondering which was the best and had the best results. I want to raise the front end to level with the back end and add a couple of inches but not too many because i have to stay under 7 feet so i can still fit in the garage but any help advice or tales from experience would be great.

I`m in the same boat you are. I`ve been talking to everybody I can about this plus surfing the net. From what I hear you can`t go wrong with Fabtech or RCD. Lemme know what you come up w/ =)

I'm a 4x4 guy, but from what I've seen and heard on the board, a lot of guys are happy with the Fabtech lift, and there are a select few who have done Rancho's 4" lift for 4x2's. As for the RCD lift, I didnt think they made a susp lift for 4x2's but I could be wrong.

Alright guys I'm new here as you can tell by my username. If we can all get along I think I can be of some help w/ your suspension questions. See my sig

As for your quesion. If you want to go as big as possible and still be under 7' you can get a 6in lift and run 35s w/ some trimming or 33s w/ no problems. As far as lift I would recommend either www.californiasupertrucks.com or www.fabtechmotorsports.com The CST kit is better quality than the Fabtech. I have some of their products and I also have helped install some of their products. Rancho makes a good 4in kit that gives your 2WD the look of a 4WD, and RCD also makes 2WD lifts but I do not recommend any of their products atleast not their 4WD lifts. Hope this helps.

Y2Kboti why dont you recomend the RCD lift kits for the 4x4 trucks? Bad experience? also I have heard that you can us 3/4 ton torsion bars from a chevy on a F150, is this true?

Whatever kit you buy make sure it is a complete kit. I bought my lift kit and thought i got a great price. Turns out the kit didn't include shocks, brake hoses, or u-bolts.

Rhyno read my other RCD post: https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/001294.html

As far as using Chevy torsion bars....I have no idea. I probably would not recommend it. Go to a Ford parts dept and see if they can give you a list of all the torsion bars they use. I know that Chevy has almost 20 different torque ratings.
