Post 2" drop price ?

I live in a small town in Missouri. I was quoted a price of roughly 290.00 for a 2" drop kit for front end only (which is all I want)Im fairly new to owning a truck(6 months) and have just started playing and need all the advice I can get.
1998 F-150 XLT Extended Cab
4.6 liter 2WD
Pacific Green
Dual exhaust(nothing serious, just something local)
K&Y airfilter
Not much yet but looking at tires and wheels.
By the way I took some slack from friends on buying a Ford, with just what Ive done so far (not much) we all played in trucks out front of the plant I work at( its out in the sticks !)after work tonite. All I can say is I cant wait to hear them tommorrow !!!
LOVE MY FORD !

Welcome Stunnerrr,
Sounds about right.
I just got a couple of prices to lower both front and back, with a "Bell Tech"

So half would be 250.00...
Wheras there's more work in lowering the front, that cost seems fair.

Late...

Stinnerr:
If that price includes alinement it is a good price! But you can purches front springs 2in
& 3in about $100. shim pack $25. alinement $60.
If you have not lowered your rear already it will be to much of a rake.

I agree with 4DLow, stunnerr. A 2" drop would give the truck quite a rake.
Look here, as a starting point, for more info:
http://www.sporttruckdirect.com/
Pick up an issue of "Truckin" and browse.
What are you trying to achieve by lowering your truck? Looks? Improved performance? An eventual "slam"? Decide first. Here's another place to check out:

and

Just my 2 cents.
