Angry MAD AT FORD DEALER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I just got my frist oil change and my dad brought his truck up to get his serviced as well. As we where waiting we asked the service manager what a body lift would do to my truck. He was a real *****, and said that it would kill the ride, then he went on saying that my Xcelerator Duals would VOID my warranty!!!!!!!!!!! Can anyone PLEASE help me prove this guy wrong. Of course until someone re-tracts that guys statement my dad won't help me put a body lift on. Thanks for ALL help!

hey 2dollar....my trucks windows (the passenger and driver) are both at 35% tint and they are legal. your sig says yours are 20% and illegal. 35% is the max legal limit. one of two things could have happened, either they are illegal and you just thought they were 20% instead of like 40%, or you think what you have (20%) is illegal and the person who sold it to you got away with your cash. hope its just a typo in your sig!

Alright, every dealership has a ***** that says anything will coid your truck's warranty. Someone posted a while back that he went to a dealership and told them that he changed his own oil, and they said that would void his warranty. It's all a bunch of BS. They passed the Magnuson Moss Act just for this reason. They can't void your warranty unless and aftermarket product directly caused a problem on your truck. I know from experience that mot aftermarket products come with their own warranty, so you can just take it to them if something is wrong. But if this guy tries to give you any hell, tell him about the act and it will for sure shut him up.

As with everything else, it all depends on the dealer. Around Dallas, it's very common for the dealers to send their new trucks to local muffler shops to have catback duals installed with the big chrome, slash cut tips exiting under the rear bumper. Sometimes it's merely a truck they are customizing for dealer stock, other times the dual job has been pre-sold to a customer as an add-on option.

Alright F-150 MAN, you obviously have never owned a truck and are a complete moron. The lower the percentage the darker the windows. I had 35% and dropped them darker to 20%. uhhh DUH!!!

I have a 1968 f100 shortbed.
I have wrecked it three times,
the rearend has been changed out four times, new clutches, new motor, new front end, new brakes, and I shot holes in the windshield.

Will any of this void my warranty?

Thanks.

A Warranty is just a state of mind.
You believe that someone will take care of you.
You think that you bought something that some company will back up and guarantee.
Well guess what? If you own it Jack its your
problem. You might have some recourse with your warranty and you might be able to press Ford up against a wall and make them pay regardless of the "legal" details,
But its your Truck, your problem from the moment you put the key in and drive it away.
Good luck all

NO NO No!! The body lift will only void the warranty for the parts you modify...aka manual transfer case shifter and maybe, just maybe the fan shroud, unless you buy the kit to raise it instead of cutting it...my truck has been in under warranty with the body lift for the transmission and rearend and they mentioned it. I merely asked what the rearend or tranny has to do with the body of the truck...they gave in quickly both times. I think they will basically try to take your money if you let em by saying its out of warranty...ANYWAYZ, point is, it only voids what you modify! Which is very little on a body lift cause all those fun angles and steering geometry and suspension junk stays the same...hope this helps.

I cut my own air box, changed my tire size, added new rims, added a brush gaurd....all aftermarket and never had a problem with warranty work. It has to be the direct cause.

Ok guys,

The body lift is coming on around June 15 (when the tires come in). I have ordered the 3" PA Body lift from 4wheelparts.com and I am going to buy 285 size BFGoodwrench All Terains with Rims from my local tire dealer (as soon as i get the money ). So it looks like there will be another lifted truck on the road!

I also called my FORD dealer(got ahold the the owner) and he said he would not let them void my warranty in ANY WAY (My dad has bought an F350, F650, and 2 F150s so far this year from them ).

It looks like everything will be good. I also wanted to let everyone know, that I traded my headlight covers in for the total black ones. They are made buy Vent Shade. They look great, although you have to take them off at night if you want to see .

Thanks for everyones help.
