Red face Hmmmm......is it bad when a shop has problems aligning your truck?

Guy from 4WP left a message saying I couldn't pick up my truck today because the alignment shop was having truble getting my truck aligned and that they're taking it to another place tomorrow to guys that know more. Should I be alarmed? Thanks.

Unhappy

On my 92 ford when we did the lift and all, I ran into the same problem. I am not sure what was done, but they had to have longer bolts made so they could add more shims. PROBLEM.......1" of shims falling out on the way to havasu, the steering was sloppy and man it cost me about 250.00 to get it fixed .......make sure they don't just quick fix it!

Hey Blown, You have the nicest truck I have seen so far.
I have a 2000 2X4 the same color! I have been looking at that lift you got. If you don't mind how much was it all totaled up?

Thanks.

I bought the RCD kit at below wholesale, the body lift for $123, PG installed the RCD for $500, and a buddy did the body lift for $100.

There is a lack of four wheel drive shops in my area so i ended up going to a regular alignment shop, they knew nothing about lifts and Ford twin i-beams so when it left the shop it drove worse than when i brought it in. I ended up getting a refund and aligning it in my driveway. The steering wheel is level and it drives straight as an arrow, whith 1500 miles on the tires they don't show any abnormal wear...yet. Sometimes i think you would be better off with some neighborhood backyard mechanic.

4RDPWR did you get just a 3inch coil, if so then no one could align it. Everyone has horror stories about 4wp but the one in my area (san marcos) has done an awesome job with mine and my friends cars. I'd go back to them anyday of the week. I can't say that for all the stores though, I just know my one seems to be knowledgable and trustworthy.

uttttt ohhhh! I remember you saying you were going to have the pro comp lift done. I decided to wait because more and more I've been hearing horror stories about four wheel parts... maybe you should try calling some other off road shops and ask them for advice... they shouldn't have had a problem with your alignment. Did u have them re-gear it, too?

there is a company that supplies camber bushings that are what they call 2 piece it is basically a normal bushing with a split on one side of it, the theory is it supposed to make alignments really easy and accurate with any lift. the only dealer i know of is camburg engineering.
