Question Will 37'' SSR swampers fit on 6''Fabtech

Hey guys do you think If i have a 6'' Fabtech on my 1997 F-150 4x4 will I be able to fit 37''s SSR's on it? Because I had a 1997 F-150 before with a 4'' Trailmaster and I had 35'' SSR's on it and they fit NO problem. Does any buddy have any pictures of this?

thanks

I have a '03 Supercrew FX4. I have the Fabtech 6" with 36x14.50 Parnelli Jones dirt grips on 16x10's. The only rubbing I had was in the back on the inside of the fender flare and on the plastic front valence piece. I did a little trimming and that all went away. I would say you would have pretty good bit of rubbing with the 37's, and they are SSR's and run a little bigger than true size.

It wouldn't work with a skyjacker 6 inch kit. I had to trim some to get my 35's on 10 inch wheels to fit. I bet it would though if you added a body lift... thats what I'm going to do. goog luck.

Here is a pic of mine with 35's on a 6 inch kit.

Very sharp truck!

You got a real nice truck there.! You see I sold my 97'' F-150 4x4 ext. cab about 8months ago and I miss it already., I had a 4inch Trailmaster susp. lift with 35'' SSR's they fit perfect just a little trimming on the front vallance. So about 3weeks ago I went and bought a 98'' F-150 4x4 ext. cab lairat and I want to go bigger then my last one. Im going with the 6'' fabtech but I dont really want to add a body lift to fit the 37''s ssr's but I might have to. Im planning on putting the lift on in about a week or so, as soon as I get it done Ill put some pictures on here.

thanks guys for the input

37" ssr's measured smaller then a set of 35" x terrains(both new). avoid what the swamper site says, its crap. the 37" ssr is THE smallest 37" tire, (well maybe tied with the 37/13 bogger). you should be able to fit them with a little trimming( very minor), like said above. put them on a 8" rim with the right backspacing, and you should be good. If they hit to much go get a 2-3" body lift (like 150$ with bumper brackets) and spend a couple of hours with a bud and some Bud lights. hehehe or just hack the hell out of your fenders with a saws all and run no lift?? Nah, didnt think so.

???

The thing I cant figure out is I seen a guy around town with a truck must be 1999-or newer F-150 4x4 and he has a 4inch trailmaster and a 3ince body and his 37'' SSR's fit no problem. I know this because when it was parked at MEIJER's.. lol So do the math...4+3=7 total inches of lift. I want to put a 6'' Fabtech on my truck...and you know Fabtech clames its a true 6''s with out turning up the torsion bars so will one inch make that big of difference? See guys im stuck on this because im not a big fan of body lifts and once I order the rims and tires.....There mine! weather they Fit or not!

thanks again guys your all a big help.

Cool

I will take a pic of my truck tonight (my fender to tire clearance.) I measured the lift on my truck before and after the kit was installed, the skyjacker kit lifted it a true 6 inches. Even with another 1 inch of lift i couldn't fit 37's (wish I could) to fit them on my truck I would need at least 2-3" more. I made sure to get the torsion bars set back the same as stock so that it wouldn't ride like a log wagon and wear out tires as fast as I could put them on.

hmmm, seems to me if your hellbent on runnin those 37's, fenders shouldn't be an issue. they won't be when i run 38" swampers seriously though, if your not a fan of hackin a little bit out, (i guess it wouldn't be much) a 2" body lift will work fine, and will look decent enough. as for performance issues (if ur worried), its not like the truck will be a canyon carver with those huge meats on it anyway, so i wouldn't worry. plus it'll look bigger and badder as well.
whatever you do, good luck.

John

Talking thanks

I could just save money all the around and just hack the fenders and then I could put any size tire I wanted right? LOL... Where are all you guys from? Im in SE Michigan (Lenawee county) The cops around here have major issues with lifted trucks. My last truck I was stopped 3 times and they broke out the measuring tape. I was right at the limit and that pissed him off hehe
so I also have to take in consider the LAW as well LOL...

well when I get it installed I post some pictures

For some reason the TM 4in lift seems to be a little higher. I know ppl who have to trim to fit 35s with the 6in, and I never had to trim to fit 35s with my TM 4in. Just cause the company quotes 6in, doesn't mean that it's going to be a true 2in higher than the other company.
