Difference of 7700 vs. standard F150?

I am wondering what the differences in the front end are between a 7700 package and a standard package on an F150. I know the 7700 have the 7 bolt wheels, larger brakes, and a tranny cooler.

What do they do to the front ends to allow them to handle a plow?

My dads 7700 would never squat under load, are the rear leafs any different? Appear the same (4 x 2.5")?

Now as I recall the front uses the same axle (8.8 RR IFS) as the standard F150. It just uses different outters. The reason it can hold the weight better is they use a different torsion bar. They are significantly larger than a standard torsion bar. And FWIW they will swap into a standard F150.

I also think that they get the 10.25" rear end instead of the 9.75". I don't know if that would change the leaf springs though.

Looks like 7700 gets larger brakes, tranny cooler, 10.25" rear end with 3.73, larger altenator and radiator, and as mentioned torsion bars that will swap right into a standard F150.

Looks like I can add a leaf in the rear, swap out the torsion bars, and add a Troyer Performance tranny cooler (will put in dual pod column with temp guages) and pretty much have the 7700 package (minus the larger brakes and rear end and gay 7 bolt rims...already had the 3.31's changed to 3.73's )

After adding RSX9000's, skidplates, and decals I will have a 03 Scab with a custom made 7700 and FX4 package...something that was not available from ford.

Well, you will still have the same GVWR and GAWR as you have always had...... You'd also need the Load Range D tires that come on them too....
