You really can't go wrong with either kit... RCD and fabtech kits are solid... I have a 6" Fabtech along with a 3" body and do some moderate offroading with my set-up.

https://www.f150online.com/galleries...w.cfm?num=6555

The Fabtech kit has held up like a dream... The shocks as stated leave a little to be desired. I've run Rancho RS5000Xs and Rancho RS9000Xs with previous lifts...and Fabtech shocks and Bilsteins with my current lift. I'd recommend the Bilstein 5100s for your application.

Just so you know...the RCD kit actually measures out around 4" of lift on Screws for some reason... Everyone I know over on FTW that has the 5" RCD kit has actually gotten around 4" of lift in the front. If you plan on running 35s...go with the Fabtech kit to get some extra clearance...

Hope this helps...

beautiful truck and yes it does help, becuase I plan on running 35s.

Did you re-gear your truck when you put 35s on yours? (assuming that's what you have)

Yes I did... I went from 3.55s to 4.10s for fuel economy reasons. I also ran the Superchips 1715 programmer to compensate for the gearing and 35" BFGs... That set-up was perfect...I towed alot back then so I needed to regear...do you have to...it's just a matter of preference. I preferred to regear. With that set-up I sat about 1 MPG less than stock but had a little more low end grunt because the 4.10s were slightly lower than the stock ratio euivalent. Made a noticeable difference...

As far as my current set-up...As of two weeks ago I was running a 6" Fabtech and 3" PA body lift combo w/ 38x15.50R17 Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip tire mounted on Weld 17x10 VelocitiXT rims...

Since then I have decided to change some things up...I am now running a 10" Full Throttle Suspension lift (removed 6" Fabtech and 3" body) with dual 7100s on the front corners and single 7100s on the rear corners. I get my truck back on Wednesday or so...I'll post up pics when I do.

Hope this helps...

Well look who it is good ole Scott. Whats up man? This is 97F1504RAD

Scott is right on the money with the RCD kit on the Supercrews it only gives four inches of lift for some reason RCD told one of my buddies that it is due to the shorter torsion bars that come on the SC. You can swap the torsion bars for Supercab torsion bars and then simplky move the mounting bracket back like I did with a friends truck. I have the Fabtech and am running 35's with no issue at all. Fabtech kit is very solid. Here is a link to my gallery here and over at FTW. I have not updated this one is a while though so the lift is not on it.

I know just enough to be dangerous.

By the way you can get more lift out of the RCD kit but you will need to buy a few other items so you may as well just go Fabtech and be done with it. If you want to know how to get more lift let me know and I can tell .

I appreciate it....

I'll probably just go with the Fabtech, everyone on here has said nothing but good about it...

With Kenny's truck not only did we add the torsion keys we also installed my stock Longer torsion bars which required the relocation of the RCD mounting bracket. My stock torsion bars had a higher payload capacity than the Supercrews come with.

Yes that is correct I have the 7700 bars. The ATI is nice and I am happy with it, however if I had to do it over again I would probably wait until Whipple releases theres and spend the extra money on it. Especially after seeing it on RIDES last week. At the time I had already waited moths in anticipation of the Whiple and it kept getting dleayed and still hasnt been released as far as I know and the cost was estimated to be way more than I wnated to spend.

Is the installation process something to have done at the shop or is it possible for a moron like myself to do the lift?

I installed a lift on my Jeep and it was fairly simple, but that was all leaf sprung.

I did the install with a few buddies in a friend's driveway...took about 12 hours including beer drinking break time! If you have a good set of sockets and few jacks and jack stands...shouldn't be that bad...

I have pics of the install in my FTW albums...

Let me know if you have any questions...

thanks Scott, nice gallery too..

the reason I ask is because every once in awhile I see a lift on ebay for a good price, I just didn't know if I should take it to 4wheelparts or just get it off of ebay and do it myself.

If you have a good selection of tools like socktes sets impact tools are very handy a torque wrench and some open end wrenches with a some mechanical knowledge you should be able to do it yourself.

Try http://ntwonline.com look under the specials page for a deal on the Fabtech.
