Daystar Leveling advice on '05 F150

Hi all

I've been lurking for quite some time and really enjoy everyones experiences/input on thier trucks.

I have just purchased a Daystar 2.5" leveling kit for my '05 4x4 Lariat and was hoping I could see some pics of the actual assembly of the coil spring spacer, strut mounting plate and top spacer in particular if anyone has any. Im going to be doing the job myself tomorrow and would love any input, tricks or general advice to make the process more efficient. I'm handy enough with a wrench to pull this off with no problems, but any additional info is appreciated.

Thanks again for all of your informative posts.

A couple things I learned while I did mine. The three bolts on the top of the coil over are not spaced equally, so you have to be aware of their location to put everything back in the same position. When you go to reinstall the coil over with the spacer remove the sway bar nut that runs through the lower control arm, this will give you enough space to put the coil over in and line up the bottom shock bolt.

Here's a link that has some pics

Oh, the bottom shock bolt takes a 30mm socket, so make sure you have one of them.

I think that's about it, good luck

Thanks for the input Marty and the link to the install guide. Great hints. I appreciate it. I plan on taking detailed pics of the whole procedure since it seems to be a popular mod for the 04-05s. I'll post them when it's complete for anyone else whose interested.

Color is Dark Stone over Arizona Biege. Doesnt seem to be a very common color, but I love it. Tan Leather, C chairs, floor shifter, nice truck.

Untill then...

Thanks DiligentDave!

I used your instructions to install my Daystar kit this last Saturday. It took me and the father-in-law about 4 hours to finish it. We had a hard time pressing the new spacer inside the strut assembly. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the whiskey started flowing about an hour into it...

We had a good time even though it took us longer than we expected.

I plan to post pics and all this week sometime so stay tuned for all of those who want to do the install themselves.

Way to go Bribas1. A little liquid encouragement can always help add to the fun It is a bit of a tight fit for the isolator spacer to engage the spring cover, but it makes it. Glad you had fun and it went well. Dont forget to re-tighten all nuts after a couple of hundred miles.

Looking forward to those pix, bribas1

However, Mad Marty and Diligent Dave's links aren't working at the moment. I'll try later, or am I doing something wrong ?
