I used a 36mm socket, but it wasn't the right size. I believe the actual one to use would be a 1 1/2 " socket. It took alittle longer with the 36mm, but it was all I could find at the local Advance Auto.

Good luck, feel free to ask any questions. I will help as best I can.

If you want the blue Fabtech lift, make sure you specify it when you order or you will get the default color....black. I found out the hard way. But I think black will be better for me in the long run. Especially when I attempt to color corrodinate.

Price shop. I purchased from Truckaddon.com, but 4wheelparts sells them too. Their service is better.

Thumbs up

Thank you for the help. By the way, my lift is blue and it's been sitting here for more than a year.

See you later.

I am thinking about putting a lift on my truck and i was wondering if u had any vibes with that much of lift. i have had a few people tell me i would have vibes if i went with a 6" lift. I think the lift looks awesome by the way. how is the ride quality? and did u regear your truck...if u didnt...did u notice a power loss? thanx

BJS - Thanks for the compliment! I get no vibes what so ever. The ride is better than before. When the mechanic, that did the alignment on it, test drove the truck he was amazed at how well it drove. He even went as far as comparing the ride to new F150s.

I will be regearing to 4.56 once I save up the money. (estimated between $1200 to $1800 here for complete install) I will be going with Geniune Gears, front and rear, with the master rebuild kits for both. Addtionally, I have been considering adding Detroit Lockers on the rears if not both front and rear.

I haven't noticed much power lose either. But adding the gears will only impove the drivetrain after adding the lift and the larger tires.

Good luck. And don't hesitate asking more questions.

dont put a detroit locker in the front axle, you wont be able to turn with the hubless design of the 8.8 ifs in the front it would make it a death trap, you would have to go with a selectable like the ARB, just food for thought
