Body Lift question

I just bought my 2001 F-150 SuperCrew Lariat I was going to start with a body lift until i can afford a suspension lift my only concern is, I know you get brackets to raise the bumpers but my truck came with a trailer hitch will the body lift leave an unsightly 3 inch gap between the hitch and the bumper?

Your hitch will sit 3 inches lower, but it doesn't look bad in my opinion. It looks like most receiver hitches after the lift since Ford hid it to begin with. THere is a place that sells hitches for body lifted trucks but I can't remember their name.

Just in case you wanted another opinion, you can go to my website and see a similar photo (maybe not as clear as wandell's) of the hitch. This is in a 98 Supercab. No problem for me the way it looks. Needs some paint right now, though.

I am thinking of buying a 3" inch body lift for my 02 f150 4x4 and i was just wondering what you guys used to lift the body off the frame and how you did it to add the 3 inch spacers?

I used a floor jack and some scrap pieces of 2x4 wood (to distribute the weight).

A few days ago I removed the hitch assembly for painting. Now is ready to be installed and looks like new. Being so exposed, it was showing all the rust around.

The 2x4's that I used were around 12" long and I stack (nailed)enough of them to get to 16" tall. But that depends on the capacity of the jack you are using.

It is mentioned in the instructions, but as a double check remember to lift the cab and bed and the same time( for our application).
