1992 / 2004 Rear swap

I have a 1992 with a noisey 8.8 rear and 3.55 gears. I would like to replace the entire housing with a 9.75 out of a 2004 f-150.

Is this a bolt in swap and what proportioning valve should I use for the rear disc brakes? What about the wheels? Different bolt patern?

I'm not sure about the proportioning valve but I do know that the lug pattern is different. The 04's have a six lug axle. You will also have to have a driveshaft made, because the 9.75 housing is bigger. If I were you, I would look for a 8.8 from your trucks era.
