lifting a 4x2

I Have A 99 Fi50 4x2 Running 275/70 R16's On A 16x8 Inch Wheel, But I Want To Run 285/75 R16's On It Instead. I Know I Don't Have To Lift The Body To Make Them Fit, But I Think It Would Look Better If I Did. My Questions Is This: What Is The Average Cost Of A Professionally Installed 3 Inch Body Lift?

Also It Has A 5 Speed Manual Transmission. With The Larger Tires Should I Get The Tranny Re-geared (i Do Not Plan To Tow) And Have The Speedometer Readjusted? Also What Is The Aproximate Costs Of Doing These Two Things?

A Performance Accessories body lift kit should be right around $150. I've seen installation quotes from $100 to $800 so it varies greatly. Your best bet is to grab a buddy or two and install it yourself. Also, it's your rear end that needs to be regeared, not your transmission. I have no idea on the cost for that.

Alright, another 4x2 going up!! COOL!
I've got a 4x2 on 37" tires. Total lift is about 14". My RCD suspension lift cost me $1400 OTD installed (they gave me a deal), my 3" body lift cost me $500 installed. I had my rearend regeared to 4.56's and that cost $550. I have an automatic trans, which was still running too hot so I had to add a tranny cooler and bigger alum pan. I have a Superchip and I had that reburned to the new set up so my speedo is dead on. I'm doing a hair over 2K rpms at 70 mph. I get 13-16 mpg., and I have a V6. Lift away baby!!

What engine do you have? Do you tow or haul heavy loads often? If you have a V6, I'd go with 4.56 or 4.11's. If you have a V8, I'd go with 3.73 or 4.11's.

Hows the ride quality with your lift and tires blonde ambition? Im asking because I'm changing my fabtech lift to a pro comp lift and RCD's lift is real similar to pro Comp's and Im hoping its softer than my spine buster. Thanks in advance!

I'd have to say, considering I'm up there a ways, it's pretty smooth.
This will tell you how smooth it is......I have a neuro-muscular illness so I have alot of pain and I can still ride/drive in my truck. That should tell you something.
