Question need help on buying suspension lift!

Hey guys i have recently been looking into buying a suspension lift for my truck...i have several questions. first how much is installation for a 6 inch suspension lift? also can it be done at home by someone with amature abilities. furthermore. I need to find the right kit. Money is deffinetly an issue. so i want the cheapest buy that i can find but still have a respectable product. I already have a pa 3 inch body that i have not put on yet. i am leaning towards going witha 6 inch lift and selling the body lift or going with a 4 inch suspension and the body lift...but i heard thats not good or soemthing..bu anyway..any help on what to buy and were to buy it would be awesome..thanks alot guys

If you describe your abilities as "amature", I wouldn't attempt it. Professional installation cost will vary from region to region so it's gonna be hard to give you an estimate. There is nothing wrong with installing a body lift and a suspension lift, but you would save time and money by installing a 6 inch suspension lift and forgetting the body lift. I'd suggest the Fabtech or RCD lift personally.

i just finished putting the fabtech kit on my 99 4x4. It is worth every penny! I paid more for it from were I work. It was simple and well engineered. I did not have to cut/grind/file anything to get it on. Bolt up without any problems!
I am running 35x12.50x16 tires on a 16x10" rim.

I am in upstate NY and a few people I know paid $750-850 for installation including front alignment.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE FABTECH KIT!!!

Question what about the 33's

Ok so if i do decide to go with the 6 inch fabtech kit..I just biought some new 325/60r18 procomp xtreme all terrains because i thought i was only running the 3 inch body lift.. Do you guys think the 325's will look stupid on the 6 inch suspension lift?

thanks guys any ideas or opinion is greatly appreciated

The 325/60R18s are about a 33" tall tire, which IMO would be a little on the small side for a 6" lifted truck. 35"s would be a good idea.

If you do go with the 35" tires, it would be a good idea to re-gear (at LEAST 4.10s, maybe even 4.56s). But if you dont regear, it wont cause any harm, the truck will just feel like a dog. Expect to pay around $1000+ for that.

by not regearing you will be putting more stress on the tranny, it will be at a lower RPM in all gears, the tranny will have to work harder to get going, it wont kill your tranny right away but it will lower its life expectancy, i always recomend a regear if going any more than 3" over the stock tire hieght, with 35" 4.56 will put you in the RPM range that the tranny was designed for, it will also help with the tranny having to hunt for gears, good luck

I Ran 35 For About 2 Yrs With A Superchip Programmer And Had Great Results. A Little Slow Out The Hole But Would Run On The Other End. All I Had Were 3.55.
