hey guys i just picked up a 98 f150 lariet 4x4 with the tow package

i just have a quick question.

the ride hieght on this truck is quite a bit taller then a normal f150 and im just wondering could it be a f150 with the hd suspension or what and how could i find out if it is.

is there rpo codes of some sort? the suspension looks stock from what i see but i would just like to know so i know what shocks and whatnot go with this suspension

If you had the "heavy duty" F150 you would have either F250 Light Duty badges or F150 7700 badges...I dont remember which they called it in 98.

In any case, are you saying its taller than most of the 4x4 F150s you see around? Maybe the previous owner added a body lift, or cranked the torsion bars.

 

well you have the lariat so you most likely have 17 inch rim where most of those trucks had 16 so you will be a little taller than other f150's....plus you might have bigger tires so theres different factors that it could be and it might be that he lifted it or torqued it but im guessing 17's

I have a lariat and i would park next to other non lariats and i would sit like 1 inch higher than them, Now with my 265 70 17 bfg at ko's i sit like 2 inches above others. I Parked next to a 4x4 the other day and they are about 1 inch higher than me.

 

ya i have the 265/70/17s on the truck

that must be why this thing looks so tall

this truck is tall though haha but she sure is pretty

black with greyleather, ext. cab, short bed, tow package, 4.6

i traded in a 2001 dodge durango for it...really nice truck but i did not need the room inside anymore
