leaf springs

leaf springs

is there anyway to knock the leaf spring back into place after they,ve moved- and why do the leafsprings shift around like that?( is it safe?)

umm.. i dont know what you mean by moved. they dont move out of place. you might have a problem.

what exactly has happened???

broken clips....Clips hold the leaf springs in place..on the ends of the spring.

The very bottom spring is not " stacked" with the rest of the springs.it also doesn't look like a clamp busted off- could it be a result of the back end of the truck not having enough weight in it and skipping sideways everytime i hit a pot hole or ride on rough roads? it's been like this since i bought the truck last year- no major problems with it though i am concerned.

HHMMM, I would be a concerned. Your leafs should'nt move at all. Check your U-bolts, they hold the leafs down to the axles. You should have 2
U-bolts on each axle. Even if you catch air, your leafs should'nt moveAT ALL.
