Supension Lift V.S. Body Lift

Welcome all as I am new to this board.

I have a 2000 4x4 f150 4.6l, auto, with the towing package. My truck is about to hit 100,000 miles and still has the orginal supension.

I have been reading some of the posts, but hadn't really read the difference between a supension lift and body lift. It appears a body lift includes more parts changing than just a supension lift? What excatly is a leveling kit do?

Thanks for any help!

Since it has that many miles on it, I would leave it alone, but to each his own. Suspension lifts installed are typically more than double what a body lift installed would cost. A body lift just raises the frame frome the body, using spacers. Its up to you man.

A body lift does not give you any additional suspension travel, whereas a suspension lift does.

Body lifts are generally easier to install, they can be done in the driveway with fairly basic handtools. Installing a suspension lift can require some additional skills, depending on the actual kit.

The body lift is also quite a bit cheaper.
