Question Achieving Animals Height

I'm trying to acheive the same height as Animal look at post here...

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=237062

I have a 2006 2wd Supercrew and I realize he has a FX4... I've ordered a 6" Performance Fabtech kit using Dirt Logic 2.5" Coilovers up front and regular shocks in the rear (for now)... What else do I need? Daystar? Add-a-leaf? Larger Rear Block? Fabtech sent me this little 2" Block for the Rear.

Thanks for the help..

The Fabtech lift should have everything you need, although you will probably want to add something like a 3" body lift in order to get the same height as animal did.

edit: forgot he had a BL on his already.

Im not sure if you can use a Daystar or AutoSpring leveling kit to add lift to the front when you use the aftermarket lift kits...you would have to email them and ask. The rear is not hard to get extra lift out of...add-a-leaf's and blocks make that pretty easy. The front is going to be hard because you are starting a few inches behind him there.
I remember seeing a post where I guy tried replacing his 2WD springs with 4WD springs and shocks, but I dont think it worked out...

I contacted AutoSpring and their 2.5" kit will bring me up to stock 4wd height... Then I can add the fabtech kit underneath it plus the BL. We will see what happens... I will definitely share my setup with all those 2wd individuals... The Fabtech kit came with a Small 2" block... I may need to order the 5", but that can wait until after I get the lift on and see how it sits.

I don't understand why Fabtech doesn't give the correct block for the rear that iwll have the truck sitting level. My truck also has the 5 inch block. In a few weeks I'm getting AAL installed which will cost me 250 even for parts and installation. Also I noticed today my left rear seems to be sagging. I need that AAL asap.

Is your truck 2WD or 4wd? Mine is 2WD and supposively fabtech is saying if I put in the 5" blocks I might have to extend the drive line with spacers... In addition to the brake lines.. Any thoughts? Let me know what changes you made when you went to 5" blocks with 2.5" spacers... I'm doing the install May 6th. I also noticed in some of your pictures the 2" Block... Have you changed this to 5" since the picture?

I also noticed if I do this, I will definitely need the Rear Drive Shaft Spacer, front and rear brake line brackets, and the emergency brake bracket.

Well, I just dropped off the ole truck at 4wheelparts... They are doing the BL installation, I will just do the suspension lift... Wanted to stay away from the BL installation, way too many parts. Worth the $$$ to have someone else do that installation IMO.

Mine is a 2wd..
If you will put a 5" block in the back, you will have to un-clip the brake lines from the body, and that will give you enough slack for the 5" block... Since you are going to do the 3" BL im pretty sure your brakelines will have to be extended anyway...

Update

Well, don't have 4wheelparts install a BL on your 2006. Since PA hasn't done a 2006 install 4wheelparts can't do the installation because of liability issues. So they got my whole truck taken apart then called me to inform me they can't do it because of the change in the rear bumber brackets. So now I have them making the truck "driveable" and sending it over to another performance shop who of which will do it (if you live in Arizona, Desert Rats.). So hopefully by Friday Desert Rats will be completed with it and I will still be able to do the suspension installation on Saturday.

I was hoping for a headacheless lift... But of course Murphy's law.
Stay tuned for more information.

Got the BL done, only one problem, thought I would post and see what you guys thought or if you have run into this problem. Up around 50 MPH and Above there is a chirping noise... Called the technicians and they say it is the Gap Guards. Has anyone else experienced this with Gap Guards? If so, how did you fix it?
