Question cranking the TBARS

How much would I really be able to crank my stock tbars if I just wanted to bring up the front end a little bit? I am going to put on the PA 3" body lift and go with 285's. Right now as it sits my truck is 1.5 inches lower in the front than in the back. I really don't want to max them out , but would a little bit hurt anything, like maybe just trying to get a 1/2 " out of them.
Another question,
I am going to go with the ultra type 164 rim 17x9 , with a back spacing of 4.5" , will there be any rubbing with those tires and wheels if I have that 3" body lift?

Thanks

I just cranked my t bars up an inch and put a 3 inch pa body lift on it( by the way word of advice have a friend help get your front two cab mounts they spin easily. I am putting 33 1150 17's on my truck tomorrow. will let you know if they rub. ride is still the same maybe a little rougher

You should be able to crank them enough to completely level the truck out. However, dont be shocked if you cant. Every set of t-bars is different, and every truck does not have the same amount of threads available to screw in. I have heard of some trucks with tbars fully cranked from the factory. Also, 5 turns on one tbar does not necessarily give the same amount of lift as 5 turns on another tbar.

285's will fit on a stock 4x4. With 17x9 rims, you might have some slight rubbing but nothing a little trimming the valence or cranking the tbars cant handle. If you crank the tbars and add a body lift, you will definitely be able to fit 285s with the 17x9's without issue.

Thanks for all the good info, sounds like I may need to run back down to lesschwab and get the rims and tires,
Wandell , I hav eread several posts about how far the tires wil stick out outside of your body. How far would these rims and tires stick out past my body if they would at all?
Thanks

They won't stick out past the body. My wheels are 10 inches with 4.5 inches of backspacing, so they will stick out an inch less than mine.

You cannot use a spacer on a torsion bar setup.
Spacers are used on coil spring applications.
