New Shocks with 1 inch lift ?

I am thinking about going with the leveling kit on my 06 SC 4x4 but I will need to lift the rear app. 1 to 1 1/2 because of a 130 lb. tonneau and a good bit of weight for work {app 150 to 200 lbs.} in the rear.
Will a lift block of 1 to 1 1/2 require new shocks? I do some offroad stuff but never get my trucks really crossed up to extend the shocks much.

I don't think you will need a longer shock, but I'm not positive.

Thanks, I guess a better question would be do I need new shocks all around because of the 2 inch lift in the front.

I havent heard of anybody using new shocks with the leveling kits, so I think you should be ok. And the lift in the rear is minor, so again, I think you should be fine.

So, if you add a leveling kit (lift) in the front, you'll need to lift the back to match?? Couldn't you just leave it alone?? Or do you want a 1" or so of lift for cheap??

Hi,
I know its not what you asked but it seems if you got the 1 1/2in lift it would sit about level with the wt you are adding to the bed. I weigh about 280 and when I stand directly over the rear wheel, that side sags less than an inch. Good luck with what ever you decide.

No, a leveling kit does what it says it will do. However, when you put a load in the bed, your truck will sag in the rear. He plans on having a load in the bed just about all the time, so he wants to add a small lift in the rear to make up for that load.

Well.......with a load in the bed, it should sit level with NO leveling kit....RIGHT???
