I have never heard of anyone needing camber bolt kits on an 04-07 F-150 after installing a leveling kit. I have heard they are often times needed on 97-03 F-150's when installing lift coils or coil spring spacers.

what exactly are the camber bolts used for... cause my cousin has an 04 fx4 and the man at the alignment shop told him that he needed camber bolts when he got his leveling kit... if not the tires were going to start to spread open because they were too wide...

I had to get them after installing my AS 2" leveling kit. They said they needed to to be able to align the front end after the leveling kit.

Funny, the dealer did my alignment after I put on the 2"AS and I didn't need a camber kit with my 05.

If memory serves me right. A camber bolt kit was recommended to me when I did upper and lower control arms last year.

There entire perpuse is to make the alighnment easier for the guy doing it. I figure I'm paying the guy to do the adjustment. Why pay extra for parts I really don't need to make his job easier.

Just my 2 cents

When I did my 4.5" suspension mod. on my 06 SuperCrew 4x4 the kit cam with new adjustable camber bolts. The FORD dealer that did my alignment after the suspension mod. stated that "When the truck is first built to spec. there is not need for the camber alignment bolts, so FORD uses NON-adjustable camber bolts during initial build" The FORD tech also said that as the name applies adj-CAMBER bolts are needed when the travel angel is extended to ensure tires are aligned vertically... After my suspension install It cost me 45.00 dollars to have this done, If I had not had the Adjustable camber bolts, the dealer wanted 250.00 dollars for the bolts plus the 45.00 dollars for labor. I'm glad my kit came with these... From what I've read most kits do come with these adj. bolts.

I am not sure if the leveling kits require camber adustment or just front end alignement. The FORD tech said "Camber adjustment is separate from the standard front end alignement."

Hope this helps. BoB
