If I were you I'd go into business with that tire dealer, or at least get some lottery numbers. Seems he saw it coming way before anybody else did.

 

2 things... 1st this thread is 3 years old, 2nd to every body that says a company is too big to go bankrupt, that's what they said about GM.

They may have been. But I just went and bought a 7.5" fabtech lift and the guys at 4 wheel parts said.. "We will sell you the lift, but theres a good chance fabtech might not be around this time next year. So dont break anything on it! If you buy the lift and something breaks then we might not be able to get it replaced."

 

So they're done?

Good question but I have no idea. Either way.. I was told not even two weeks ago that it was not a very wise idea to buy fabtech. I have no idea whether or not what they said was true, but I assumed that they said that for a reason.

 

lets put it like this... warranty or no warranty.. fabtech holds up 3x better than any other lift.. i've seen this first hand, i used to sell this stuff

 

theirs a few newbs who actually use the search function i guess and forget to check dates.

i do like the fact they do use the search function instead of asking what size tire can i fit with a leveling kit, or where to buy leveling kit, or what size leveling kit.

 

I agree with you, but when you use it off road.. stuff breaks. Not if but when it does I will want to replace it.

 

You have a point there...

 

all of the fabtech kits use like 1/4'' thick steel. that's probably thicker than what the frame rails are. i doubt you would break the kit, unless you seriously tried offroad. the factory components (ball joints, control arms, cv joints, etc) will fail far before the fabtech subframe crossmembers.

 

I had a buddy with a z71 with a fabtech lift. Of course it had to be a chevy, but he hit a rock in a mud pit that bent and cracked the crossmember. You cant say that s*** dont happen.

 

When I was looking into my lift I had a shop tell me they thought Fabtech was going bankrupt as well. So I went to another shop and got my lift.

 

So do you mean that a different shop would not say they were going bankrupt? I think that is what you mean. It didnt really matter to me what that guy had to say about fabtech anyways because thats what I wanted at the time. Although if they were to go out of business a few people would be SOL. I dont think that you would break the lift parts on your truck because its more of a street truck. So you probably wont have to worry about it even if something were to happen to fabtech.
