When I did the lift I had the stock 3.73 and got around 17 m/gal and yes they are 39.5 tall. When I istalled the 4.88's it went up to 19 m/gal on the hiway, haven't checked in city.

And yesterday and today it has been around 45 degrees in the morning and I have yet to expierence any flat spots at all.

Last I saw it has only the RIZE block and a AAL

A 35x12.50R15 can get up to a 15-16" footprint with a beadlocked wheel, so a 16.5" footprint with a 39.5x16.5 isn't as impressive. With a 17" rim, I'd say you could get a good 20" wide print with a beadlocked rim.

the way they measure a tire is the amount of thread so a 12.50 has that from side to side of actual thread the rest is just smooth rubber and on a 16.50 it has just that so if you got a 17 inch footprint from a 12.50" tire you actually have 12.50 of grip and 4.5" of smooth side tire.

^^^

I dont think that is right, that is why they have a tread width on almost every tech sheet for an off road tire.

although I believe the only real reason to lower tire pressure is to get better grip on slick surgfaces or jagged ones where the tire can form around it, like for rock crawling. I dont know how much of that he will be doing so i will say his 20" rim is just fine for what he has.

plus it looks badass

I don't mean to talk crap about your truck or anything. You need to remember that I come from a little hick town where anything considered "bling" is shunned. When I see 20" on anything, I kinda freak out.

What width are your wheels?

For the airing down and footprint thing, when you air down you don't gain the extra foot print side to side. Its front to back that you are looking to gain.
