do i need a aal with fabtech?

I am just days away from ordering a lift kit.. I keep going back and forth between fabtech 6 and the rancho 4. Then i saw a post on here, the guy said that most fabtech lifts come out with the *** end lower then the front, so you need to aal....... The guys ive talked to with the rancho say that they turn out perfect. so my question is, is this true bout fabtech? and if so how much more is it gunna cost me for the aal, if anyone knows.

It is personal preference, compare pics of trucks with rancho and fabtech lifts, and decide what you think looks better. The add a leafs run around $100 for the pair..

i would go with the 6" fabtech. as far as being low in the rear all lifts come that way pretty much. u should use an add a leaf with the kit or a bigger block.

This is a topic that is near and dear to my heart as I will be going with a 6" Fabtech kit in March. Since the Fabtech kits only come with 2" blocks for the rear (to make up for the nose down stance our trucks leave the factory with) I think either a bigger block or an AAL is a must. I am keeping my 2.5" AS leveling kit on mine on top of my 6" lift to ensure I can fit 325/65r18' tires on my truck. So I will defeinitely be going with an AAL for the rear of my truck.

Can't wait to see your truck when it is done. Which Fabtech kit are you going with?

FYI, ProComp ships their 6" kits w/ a 2.5" block but they also make the 3" block.

I say go with fabtech I have one and it dont sit bad at all and as soon as I put my new winch bumper on I figure it will bring the front down just enough to sit perfect.

The new F150s leave the factory 3" higher in back than in front. FabTech's kit is a "prerunner" kit, it's low in the back for looks and "acceleration traction" based on weight transfer to the rear.

Personally, I buy trucks for work and play - if the tail is low unladen, it is really low as soon as I add a load - not good! So, I like what some like to call the "stink bug" look. The SkyJacker kit I just got is 6" front and 4" rear, so I'll get it installed (except the Ubolts) and see if I like the look. If not, I can always add more lift to the back. I'll post pictures when it's in, but it looks like the next two weeks are going to be REALLY cold up here, so it won't be too soon!

the kit was bought from 4wheelonline.com and came with the 2 inch blocks might have been a mistake from the factory which is a high possibility

Did you also buy your 150 dollar blocks from them as well? The 2WD kits do come with a 2" block, is your truck 2WD?

so kanasasjoe, is that truck you posted there just a fabtech 6" and nothing else? It looks good from that angle, also where are you getting your kits from? because it seems like a lot of people are having the *** lower problem.

Edit: That's my truck, it has fabtech 6" with half of skyjacker leveling poly spacer on it with add a leaf (my own) and arched to sit the back an inch higher than the front.
Very nice truck there. I checked out your website also, nice stuff. I have a 2006 2WD SCREW with a 2.5" leveling kit installed. I will be adding a 6" Fabtech lift soon and really want to keep the leveling kit to ensure I clear 325/65r18 tires. Do you make AAL's for 2WD trucks and what size would you recommend I go with? I will probably be going with the 5" block from Fabtech as well, but will have to order that separately since their kits only come with a 2" block.
