hey i was lookin at tires and was wondering. would a 38x12.5 be too narrow on an f150? im tempted to buy them b.c ther the cheapest 38s ive seen new. wut width should i git if i run 38's? thanks for all of your help guys

 

WIth a 12.50 inch wide tire, I'd go with a 10 inch wide wheel.

 

Honestly i think it would look really funny...thats too narrow....when i had 37x13.50s on my truck it kinda looked a lil weird.....i would go with a 14.50 width...that would look the best with 38s

 

ok, im sorry to say it but... scratch the whole idea. I jus looked at 4wheelparts.com and i can get a 7.5" suspension lift, 2" body lift, 37" tires, 16" rims, billet grille insert, and 4.88 gears for less than probably what the whole suspension lift would cost. thank god for holidays b/c w/o them then i would be able to afford nething. lol

 

Hey, it's still gonna be a sweet ride. Also, I'd suggest going ahead and getting the 3 inch body lift. The 2 inch kit doesn't come with rear bumper relocation brackets.

 

as far as i know the biggest you can get for a 98 is 10inch but i think thats 4x4 not sure about 4x2 if y awant to go high you nee dto be thinking about dumping that ifs and putting a solid front end in but it wont be cheap iv ejust priced up mine for parts only an dim in the 10,000 range and im building it myself but that is a dana 60 front with disks and a 14 rear with disks and 5.13's

 

yea i was debating on either the 2" or 3". If i get the 3" do you think i would be able to squeeze one size bigger tire under it? i really shouldnt though ther would be too much attention on me, the cops are finally cracking down. a bunch of kids got inspection tickets yesterday. ill rig up somethin to make it legal. but i still need to see if this truck is able to handle a suspension lift.

 

Even with a 3" body lift and a 7.5" suspension lift you will BARELY be able to squeeze 37s under that. If you want you can get a hold of SKG Motorsports out here in Poway, CA and get some 1.5" aluminum coil spacers and you can run 37s without a body lift no problem. Thats the same setup I used to have on my truck before the 16" lift.

well, i just got an email from the bulletproof suspension pr guy. i asked how much the lift was and it is in my budget. the lift is $3200, leaf springs are $660. add the tires and wheels and im somewhere in the hi 4 to low 5k range. its a little steep but w/e, ill worry about that when i have some money. so its either the 12" lift w/ 38" tires or the 7.5" lift w/ spacers and
37" tires. wutever i can afford is what i will be riding on.

 

dont forget about shocks, extended brake lines, wheel spacers (depends on the rim you get), drive shaft extension or two-piece drive shaft, and labor charges.

 

well the bulletproof lift comes with new brake lines. im still in between the two b/c i jus looked into geting a loan and the payments will be pretty reasonable for me and i have room to work with so i might do a little splurge
