and one more thing this guy I know with an 05 Supercrew with 9-10" Nationals snapped on him twice during normal driving. His truck never touched the dirt.

That's fine. No offense taken. Marty at Truck-Toyz told me that National makes good springs, but do to some other issues he does not do business with them. He recommends Deaver springs. I would to if I sold them. I would have liked to run Deaver ,but they did not want to make what I wanted. Oh well, time will tell how well these springs are. It should be no time before I know.

Wow, twice? I wonder what factors were involved? Was this before the company changed hands?

Why do you say Deaver didn't want to make what you wanted? I talked to them about building a custom set of leafs and they were more than helpful. .

This is going to be a long post....

I said that because of the conversations I had with them. I wish I had kept the e-mails as they would prove what I am saying. I don't care if anyone believes what I say. They kept telling me they would take a set of 4" leaf springs and re-arch them for a total of 5"-6" of lift. I told them that I wanted to stay as close to the stock payload / towing capacities as possible with a true 6" lift. That was not something they wanted to do for me. I am not trying to bash Deaver. I know their reputation and the quality of the work they do. They, for some reason did not want to work with me. End of debate.

For the record.... I was quoted $647 for the 4" springs by Deaver. I was told $800 for the re-arched version without getting me the specs I wanted. So $800 for the springs. Bushings are what $45? Let's see, $845 for the springs and then they need to be shipped. UPS is roughly $150 from CA to NH for ground service. Now that's $995. I paid $1055 (shipped) for my springs. They are only a 25% reduction in the total towing / payload capacity of my truck. I am sorry people don't like National Springs. I gave them a shot. Oh well if it's the wrong choice. Live and learn. Having custom stuff made is a crap shoot. No guarantees. I accept that!

Is that a good enough answer?

I am not saying who's right or wrong, but maybe the issue is that increasing the arc too much puts too much stress on the leaf at the factory payload upper weight limit.

The truck is getting done as we speak. It should be done on thusday. I am jacked! Pictures are coming...

The National spring thing does not scare me. Things break! Custom or not! I would have left my truck stock if I was concerned with stuff breaking. It's all good!
