Ordering skyjacker 6" tommorrow

Well i guess this is it I'm going to be ordering tomorrow. Going with the 6" with new rear leafs and hydro rear shocks, best price i found was 4wheelonline for 2335 with free shipping. I know it's alot more than a fabtech but i hate the prerunner look and this kit replaces everything and comes with the skidplates.

I will be installing with the help of a friend of mine he has shop with a pit so hopefully install wont be 2 bad, the only bad thing is i will be running around on 33's until i figure out which tires i want, hopefully not more than a month.

Anybody with any experience with this kit got any pointers for me

Your best bet if you're looking for rear leaf springs is to go with either the fabtech or skyjacker kit and then put the BDS springs on the back because they're 5.5" springs while skyjacker's are only 4" springs. You should end up being a little cheaper and won't have to have any blocks at all because 4" only will not look good and you're gonna have that prerunner look which you're trying to avoid and would have to compensate with a block or rearching the skyjackers.

Kansasjoe, curiousity - why would 4" springs give the prerunner look? Truck rakes 3" from the factory - if you lift the front 6 and back 4, you still have 1" of rake... or am I missing something? 5.5" springs should give you almost stock rake.

Because I've installed over 50 of the F150 lift kits and have an idea of what will look good. Here's my truck and it has 6.5" lift on the rear and it sits about 1" higher than the front. I do have half a skyjacker poly kit in there which gives an additional 1-1.5" so without the kit it would be 5.5". Never had a truck leave here without adding a leaf to it for an additional 2" in the rear which when you factor in the 5" block minus the factory 2" block = 3" and then add in 2 so you're at 5" and that seems to be the look people like (at least here in the midwest).

That's what I wasn't following - I'm adding 4" springs and leaving the factory 2" blocks - so I should end up with about a 1" rake... which is about unnoticable. I guess I thought the 6" SkyJacker kits all came with the springs, not blocks.

That is correct. I installed the leaf springs last night and it gave me better than 3" over the old 1.5" AAL - once I do the front (tonight, hopefully) I'll lose some of that due to weight transfer. So, I expect it will right just a little higher in the rear than front - but not much. I may go back and put the AAL into the pack - see how I like the ride first, I guess.
