Lifting Rear

OK, so I am adding some lift to my truck as soon as I get outside to get it installed.....but I am sitting here thinking that I don't have enough to make the rear level.

Right now I have 6" in the front and bout 4" in the rear consisting of a 2" block, and 2" AAL.

After the new stuff is installed there will be about 10.5" in the front, So I am thinking that the 5" block and the 2" AAL is not going to be enough for the rear to sit level, seems like I will be about 2" too short.

I know, I know, buy new leaf paks, well I am not doing that just yet, because I am not certain that I will stay at this height.

What other options are there? Larger AAL? Shackle? Hanger? I really am not super excited about the 5" block as it is, so I will not use a taller block.

Thanks for the help.

Sorry, wish I did. I can't think of anything but new springs.

I know, thats about what I am thinking as well, but I wonder if a shackle would work for a while? I know its not the best option, but I hate to buy springs when I am going to need larger ones soon.

Are the leafs on the 04+ the same size (width) as the 97-03's?

well you also have a 2" rake to start with stock.... so if anything you should only be off by a 1/2"..... there is a 3" AAL out there forgot who makes it.... but the ride quality will suck with that big of a AAL. i would either live with it ( only cause i like the prerunner look) or buy a leaf pack....

I know you don't want to use blocks however I can vouche that they are not all that bad. I have 6" blocks with my lift and have had no issues. I've towed heavy loads, bounced it around off road and never had any issues or wheel hop\axle wrap. I will admit that I got the traction bars just to sleep better at night though. 25K miles with my lift and no problems.

I know, but I have 11" in the front, and with a 5" block and 2" AAL I will only be at 7" in the rear...still 1-2" low, I do not mind the pre-runner look myself, but 2" is a good bit.

I've got a friend who has a 6 inch Fabtech and a 3 inch body lift. He didn't want to use blocks at all, so he used a combination of AAL and shackles. He hasn't had any problems and he goes offroad quite often.

Any word on the shackle, what brand is it and where did he get it.

Thanks
