Fabtech 6" lift or Pro Comp 6"

I am debating on a Fabtech 6" coil over lift or Pro Comp 6" lift with upgraded mx6 shocks for my 2006 f150 supercrew 4x4 lariat. I am relatively new to lift kits. How much should installation be? How much did ya'll pay for your Fabtech lifts? I will be running 35x12.50x20 Nitto Mud Grapplers (I would like to run 37s if they would fit??). Also will I need a leveling kit? Thanks

i had bought a Pro Comp 6 inch with MX-6 Reservoir shocks and front Pro Runner Coilovers...that kit was REAL nice....the shocks were to. especailly those MX-6R's.

but the price on the Rize 8 inch dropped so i bought that. and took my pro comp back.

but fabtech is a little better....so if you wanted you could actually go with the fabtech with the Dirt logic coilovers, and buy your PRo Comp MX-6R;s seperate and put them on. i bet the 6 way adjustable on them is real nice

its possible to fit 37's....but you have to get the correct backspacing, and also trim some. and as for a leveling kit....id go daystar

Both are good lifts, but the Fabtech is probably a little higher quality. If you want to run 37's, I'd go ahead and get the 8 inch Rize lift.

What's the condition of the fabtechs when they arrive?

My Pro Comp was packed pretty poor and a lot of the painted peices had dings and scratches all over. The boxes might as well of been paper bags. It was also missing a few bits of hardware. I emailed Pro Comp and i got no reply but I did get a unexpected package yesterday from them that I haven't opened .

I am leaning toward the fabtech lift because I would like a lift with the leaf springs. I personally dont think the blocks on the pro comp lifts I have seen look very good but it is cheaper that is a plus. Will 37's fit with a daystar leveling kit? on a fabtech 6" lift.

I was happy when I got mine, no issues on the boxes or shipping.

Alright the research has led me to the Fabtech 6" coil over sytem. And I decided on the 35x12.50R20 Nitto Mud Grapplers. I need a little input though beacuse I need some info on the accesories and how much they will affect the ride. I do not want to lose the smoothness of the factory ride as much as possible. I was thinking about the traction bars and steering stabalizer? I do not know which are the best brands. I cannot find the traction bars from Fabtech for a F-150 so I do not think they make them. And I do not know if the steering stabalizer from Fabtech will work. The factory says this "(For use with Fabtech crossmember kit only. Will not work with OEM wheel, aftermarket wheels with a 5" back spacing required)" I am new so explain the problem to me please. Thanks for the input!

The general opinion on the Mud Grapplers is that they look and perform great, but they are very, very loud and wear out quickly.

I went to that link and tried to order them and they to do not make the traction bars for the f150.

As for the noise I have a top of the line infinity speaker system and 2 jl audio 12's so if I hear the noise I will just blast the radio or listen to the sound of an airplane chasing me both music to my ears.

Hey, i have a 6" fabtech on my 2006 f150 and love it. The condition on arrival was very good, packed nicely and set up perfectly. I would definately reccomend this kit over the spacer style procomp. You can then get another inch or 2 if wanted usuing a spacer like the AS, but you cant stack spacers which is a con for the procomp. On tire selection to each his own, but i have the 35" BFG mud terrain and i LOVE them. They ride great, sound fairly quiet, and get great wear, even on the highway. I feel they are an unbelieable tire and when mine are done i won hesitate to put another set on my truck. Hope this helps!

If you don't wanna lose the factory ride, DO NOT get the Mud Grapplers!!! Get some Toyo MTs.

No you can use the daystar, or the as, almost any leveling kit will work with the fabtech the procomp is the one that has problems with leveling kits because the stage one kit uses a spacer to lift the front and thus its not a good idea to stack spacers making it hard to use a spacer lift like the daystart os AS with the procomp stage 1! Hope this helps!
