What size lift for 33"-35" tires?

Hey all,
I have a 2000 SuperCab that is pretty much stock except for a recent MagnaFlow single out system(not shown) . I would like to move up to 33-35'" tires and new wheels but would like to get opinions on what size lift (no body lifts), or even a leveling kit, I would need to do it. I will probably stay with 16" wheels and go with 8" or 10" width. Also any opinions on offset/backspacing?

Right now I have 265/70/16 tires on the stock alloy chrome wheels.

I have been reading the site since December and have already fixed my Od. display and found out how to fix my power lock issue.
What a great bunch of folks and a great place for info, DIY fixes and mods.

Thanks in advance!

i go w/ either a 4" Rancho (for 33's) or 6" Fabtech (for 35's)..however, i've seen some people put 35's on a 4" lift. hope this helps.

i would go with 35's if i were you because u will always want to go bigger once u have a lift and i think 35's look better personally.rcd makes a 5" lift that will clear 35's;fabtech makes a 6" that will clear 35's;pro comp makes a 4" that will clear 35's.their all around the same price which is about $1,500.if it was me i would go with the fabtech 6,my friend just got the same lift put on his 98' and has had no problems.fabtech is a little higher quality in my opinion.

I always tell people when trying to decide between sizes (wheels, lift, etc) always go with the larger one or you will just regret it later. I'd suggest a 6 inch Fabtech or 5 inch RCD lift with some 35x12.50's on a 10 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of backspacing. Whether you go with 16, 17, 18 or 20 inch wheels is strictly a matter of personal preference.

your torsion bars are a free leveling kit if you have a 4X4, and you should be able to get the 33's without a lift

Why is it that fabtech only offers a 7 1/2" lift for 2wd?

My guess is supply and demand. They use to also make a 3.5 inch kit and a 6 inch kit. Apparantly the 7.5 inch kit was the best seller so they stuck with it and discontinued the others after the new body style F-150 was introduced.

That's true, but I don't want to sacrifice the ride for lift. With a kit I can have the factory ride(or close to it) and the lift I want. Also, I won't be maxing out the torsion bars, CV joints and ball joints. After researching a little on what the leveling kit consists of, I'll only go with a complete lift. Re-indexing the keys doesn't seem like a long term way to do it IMO.

I am looking at the Rancho 4" kit also.

Wandell, do you have more pics of your SuperCrew?

Guys,
the 7.5" fabtech lift is made only for 2wd trucks. When its installed, it would sit level next to a 6" fabtech lifted 4wd because 4x4's and 4x2's don't sit level factory.

correct me if im wrong. Just my look on the situation

I would do a minimum of a 4 inch for 33s and a 6 inch for 35s...

You might look at the 4.5" Superlift F.I.T. system. I have a 6" Fabtech, not installed, and might return it for the Superlift. For my needs I do not want to run 35" tires up and down the road, but would like the option to have 35" tires later on. I have read about a couple people with the Superlift on here, they seem really pleased with the lift, but there does not seem to be a lot of people running this lift yet.

Probably because that makes a 2wd look like a 4wd
