02 F150 4x4 Leveling questions

Hey Guys Im new here names Troy

Just had a few questions about leveling and maybe lifting. I read a little about torsion bars and just adjusting them. How much can I lift the front by doing so? Also, what are the biggest tires I would be able to fit if neone has a clue. I wouldnt mind adding some sort of 1 inch lift in the back to match if I could lift it that high. Basically how much can I get without actually lifting it to much as I just want a little more height for a little bigger tire. Im driving a 7700 series F150 2002 supercrew. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Every truck is a little different. Most trucks can get close to 2 inches of lift by cranking up the torsion bars. This will allow you to fit a 35x12.50 (barely) using the OEM wheels or 33's using wider aftermarket wheels.

7700 Series Torsion bars

Hey...

I drive a 2001 7700 Series and cranked 9 turns into my torsion adjusters and got 2.25" inches of lift on the front end. My 33's are very spacious in the wheel wells. Just make good and sure you get an alignment after cranking the torsion bars.

No you wont have to do anything to the rear to fit 33's (or 35's). If you keep with your stock wheels, you wont have any rubbing up front with 33's, either.

If you use a 10 inch wide wheel you will have to trim a little plastic off the front bumper's lower valance.

You can fit 35x12.50's if you mount them on the OEM wheels. This is an extremely tight fit and you will have some rubbing on the frame at full steering lock. Personally, I wouldn't go that big unless you plan on lifting the truck in the near future. 35's will not fit a stock 4x4 if you mount them on wider aftermarket wheels. You will have to have at least a 3 inch body lift to fit 35's using aftermarket wheels. Remember, wheel width and backspacing are as important to fitment as tire size.

well, the dream was nice even tho it was only a dream. Im not in to lifting it that much right now. I wanna be able to park it under ground and hit a mud puddle once and a while. Id prefer to watch all you guys break your truck first Ive read some of the other threads that just seemed to pop up (after I searched them) and got a lot of info. You guys definetly know your stuff. Anyhoo, that being said one more question. what the hell is the size of a 33" tire for a 16 inch rim...315? or is that a 35"? I kept seeing those numbers and it was making me go crazy. Any suggestions on a good tire???

thanks

A 285/75-16 is basically a 33x11.50. A 295/75-16 is essentially a 34x12.00 tire. A 305/70-16 is basically a 33x12.50. I'd suggest looking at the BFG AT KO's, Nitto Terra Grappler, Toyo AT's, **** Cepek Radial FC II's or Pro Comp Xtreme AT's.

also one other problem about torqueing the torsion bars is that the more u torque them the worst ride u will have it will not ride the same. i have my 98 f150 torqued all the way up with 35s and it looks really nise but rides like **** thats just my 2 cents
