New B...Quick question

Like it says I just bought my F150 a few months ago. I'v always been into cars and racing not into truck but its gotten to the point where I will be sing the truck to tow my car to the track once in a while. Anyways I plan on putting a leveling kit on it to start off. What do you guys recommend??(i.e. brand, 2.5? 3.0?) Any help would be appreciated.........

I put the Autospring 2.5". I love the look and it maintains the factory ride. Bang for the buck, Autospring worked for me. If I could figure out how to post my pics, Im not too smart on the posting part, I could show before and after with factory tires/rims. I still think it looks great.

I bought it off of ebay. $89.00, $108.00 for the install, $65.00 for the alignment. So for $262.00 I am level. From what I have learned from the forum, the largest tire on the 18" OEM rim will be 305-65-18. I have seen 325's on the 18 OEM, but I have been told it is really too wide. I am putting the BFG T/A KO 305's on mine in about 10k mikes.

look at this link to see my pic. There only one after the lift

https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?gnum=9815
copy and paste it in your browser....it should appear.

I'd have to agree on the autospring, easier to install than the daystar type. You can put some 285x65x18's or 305x65x18's on your stock wheels and would look great! 35's can be squeezed on but have more of a chance to rub. Click on the camera icon to see what you can do with a leveled 4x4.

Ya thats the same kit I saw on ebay!! Both your trucks look sweet!! Only thing is the truck already came with some 20's!! IMO the tires are too small there 285-50-20 Sumotumo's. I'm wanted to get some 33's and if I can fit some 35's that would be great. I dont know how wide the wheels are but I'm guessing 8.5 or 9 I think .

I think the OEM 20's are 8.5 inches wide. With a leveling kit, you could fit 35x12.50's using those OEM wheels.

According to most, it installs in about 1.5-2 hours depending on your skill level and tools. I paid the mechanic at the shop where I get my vehicle serviced $108.00. It was his first install and took him about 45 minutes. but he had a lift, tools and skill. Best $100.00 that I have spent recently. So it is up to you, my time, in my opinion, probably not others, is worth over $100.00 an hour, so go from there. No fuss no muss, let someone else do it.
Good luck!!

I agree. If you have aftermarket wheels, stick with a 33 inch tire. Wheel width and backspacing are as important to fitment as tire size.

What would be needed to make a 35" tire fit? I'm assuming I'd be looking at a 3" body atleast.....If not what do you guys reccomend to make some 35's fit. I'v also heard something about the torsion bars to raise it up or something like that.

Your 2004 doesn't have torsion bars. You can fit 35's with the leveling kit and a 3 inch body lift with aftermarket wheels.
