2x4 lift questions

Hey all I am a newbie to trucks and have a 2x4 xlt. Anyways I noticed that some people say that a 2x4 will get messed up from anything over 2 to 4 inches. I dont see why, but any info would help, thanks...

Plenty of guys here have 6" lifts on their 4X2's. Look at Fabtech, they have a good lift for the 2wd's.

The 97-03 if you went over 2.5 inches in the front you will need a new control arm. Is that what you mean?

Yeah that is what I was told, so I just went with the 2".

As far as other lifts go, I know Fabtech makes a 6", or you could get a 3" body lift.

2WD here with a 6" Fabtech and no problems. Plenty of us on here with 6" lifts and some with even more than that. Check out this thread/

Nice! Thanks all, I think I will probably get the readylift leveling kit for now. A fabtech 6" would be nice! Maybe someday.....

Most have the autospring and I think it is cheaper than the other.
