I agree wit everyone here! do it and get lots of pics to show how he does it, i've been real curious about how a 97+ SAS would work out havent seen very many of them, youll definatly have a unique truck!

Why scrap IFS? Doesnt it ride better than a straight axle? Non mechanic needing to understand the benefits...

Cause IFS stinks for agressive off road use.

Plus it's much better to run the bigger tires on a solid axle over a IFS. Anything over 37's and I'd be sweating that I might break something offroad with IFS. I'll be getting 37's on my next tire change and that's the max I myself would do.

Well one thing is a SFA u also don't have to keep getting the front realined. As far as ride quility his truck rides like a CAR. It rides as good now as it did with IFS. Also with IFS there is not a lift that is taller than 6 for a 4x4. With a SFA it is alot easier to lift and go a lot higher. O I talked to him today and he said he wants lift it up 13ins. 10 suspention and a 3 body. That way I could run 40s if I want to or stay with the 37s.

Hell why even bother with a body lift? If I were going for a SAS I'd go all suspension for lift.

BTW IFS stands for Independent Front Suspension

The body lift is already on it so I will keep it. Thats the only reason. If I didn't I would go with a 13in suspention lift.Anyway Cashel what do u say go for it?

Hell yeah man, if I had a buddy that could do it for me for cheap I'd do it in a heartbeat. The IFS is the biggest drawback I see with these trucks.

If they made a solid axle, powerstroke diesel, 6.5ft bed supercrew F150, I'd probably never buy another vehicle again.

Powerstroke does come in solid axle. And u r right the biggest drawback in trucks is IFS.

yeah I know but the superdutys are much bigger trucks as well. I'd love to have a crew cab F2/350 on 40"+ tires, but that wouldn't be a very practical daily driver, which is what my truck is. I want everything the powerstrokes have in a smaller package.
