i put one on my 04 reg cab... took about a day of day light by my self... i've done quite a few on the previous body style, mine was my first 04 and up... you need a torch or plazma cutter and welder for the rear bumper and a 1/2 in drill bit, preferably a drill press for the front 2 body mounts... if your help has done body lifts in the past, it should'nt take too long.

if i remember correctly, there is a bracket for the abs cluster that spaces it between the cluster and the frame... nothing to the brakelines going to the wheels though.

check into the 2 1/2 in front leveling kit also, fairly easy to install, you need a coil spring tool... you can rent them from a auto parts store. make all the difference... then you have 5 1/2 inches of lift for about $400 including the price of the body lift.

because the hitch and bumper brackets are together from stock, you need to cut off the braces that extend to the edges of the bumper and weld them back in using the brackets they give you w/ the kit... you can do this later if you don't have access to a torch or cutter... i just left it and raised to the next weekend and a friends place cause i didn't have the welder...

i have some pics from when i did mine.. i'll try to get them posted tomorrow..

Heck ya man...good info....I have to wait until taxes to get the kit...looks like ebay has some for 319.00..i don't have a hitch so maybe I won't need to do any cutting.....when I do do this I will be sure to take plenty of photos....I already have the 2 1/2 leveler spacers on the front so ya 5 1/2" lift for 400 bucks...can't beat that with a stick!! I am running 35's so i could use all the space I can get

not real strict here in England...I may be in trouble for how much my tires stick out past the fender wells....hopin a little more lift will detract the looks of it....if not then some expensive flares will be next on the list. Italy however, is very strict on their lift laws...i knew a guy that had a 2001 chevy 4X4 ext. cab that had a 6" lift and 37" tires on it here.....well he got orders to Italy and they weren't going to let him ship the truck to the country so he put on Z71 stickers and paid a little money under the table to the inspectors and told them that the lift was a factory Z71 suspension......he got it in....

I am in the Air Force here in England...been here about 1.5 years, I am 100 miles north of London....little base named lakenheath... Thanks for the props on the truck....she has treated me pretty good so far...of course only have 24,000 miles on her.....spent a year in Korea so it sat in my dads shed....between that and 6 months in Iraq haven't even really broke her in yet...how much lift do you have on your truck...it looks pretty high already!

I have the Fabtech 6" lift and a set of 35" tires. I am asking about the BL because another member on here (Josiah) is planning on doing the Body Lift real soon and I will be helping him out using my shop. My body lift wont be for a good chunk of time. I will probably do it when i need new tires.

Air Force ? Well, then all i can say is thanks. Anyone willing to serve his/her country is a hero in my eyes. And I'm sorry but I didn't catch it, are you in the U.S.A.F. ? or the R.A.F. ?
