body lift question, yea i know its not suspension

body lift question, yea i know its not suspension

i have a 3" body lift to put on my 97 f150 automatic with *manual* shift 4x4 and was wondering what people do about the shifters? just say f it and have it 3" lower?

I left it lower it doesn't bug me, I actually like it lower cuz it cleared up some dash space

the performance accesories 3" body lift kit comes with an extension and i just welded it in its not that hard if you can weld or know someone who does nice looking truck too

I think DRJ might be talking about his transmision shifter he has a 5spd. I dont know what lift kit you have but the PA body lift and the Summit come with a 3 inch extension to weld into the lever. Its easy to do and really does not have to be pretty. I took my time and primed and undercoated mine after it was done but it will never be seen because of the shift boot. I wish I would have takin a half inch or so out of the extension before I welded it in though. Just me. MAKE A STRAIGHT CUT WHEN YOU CUT THE LEVER!!!!

hey bigal how is your power doing with the 35's... did you regear.. im putting 4.88's in mine!

power is ok on the road, once you hit mud you have to have it in lo lock or else you will get stuck because the 4.2 just doesnt have enough torque to clean out a 35" tire. i have stock 3.55ls gears
