x2..at least the tires will look mean! thats about it... unless he gets at them with a regroover, i read that makin the groves larger in these gives them much better performance!

JD790 did you have to do anything to the driveshaft when you installed the lift?

I thinking about installing a 6" lift on my truck, im sure I can do the front and the rear just wasnt sure about the driveshaft, I have heard of people having to get it balanced but I dont know if that is for 2004 and up, or all f150s......

Nope, nothing was done to either driveshaft. There was a spacer that goes in between the drivers side front cv shaft and differential, but I believe that was all for driveline modifications. The 2004+ body styles have to have the front driveshaft re-keyed so it is in phase after lifting and re-balanced to prevent a vibration when in 4x4 at higher speeds.

I'm sure having some special tools would help but I'm sure there are ways to do things without having them. I'm not actually the one installing this lift - a technician at work is. I am just watching the progress. It looked like quite the job - but there are good instructions and whatnot. Might see if you can get onto skyjackers or fabtechs website's tech section and read through the installation manuals to see what all needs to be done and then you can decide if you want to tackle the job yourself. That's what I did. I must've read the pro-comp's manual like 15 times!! lol

you dont really need any special tools for the fabtech lift. The only thing i had to rent was a torque wrench that went up to 200 foot pounds. Other then that it was just basic hand tools. It really isnt to bad installing either if you are mechanically inclined

Final pics are coming I promise. I brought my good digital camera to work today so I can take some decent pics of it instead of using my camera phone.
Currently the truck is getting some trimming done to the front valance and the e-brake cabe is getting re-routed since it was rubbing on the tire on the drivers side. Then it is going to get washed and cleaned up. I will get some pictures when it is cleaned up and post them as soon as possible.
