Where's the grease fittings 98 4x4...

My chilton's book shows greaseable areas on the front ends, but some models don't have fittings; those are capped. I recently replaced a ball joint, which included a grease fitting, but can the factory parts be greased? I'm not seeing any fittings -or- caps?

Does anyone have experience with this?

The only OEM part that has a grease fitting on it is the idler arm. It's bolted to the passenger side frame rail, connecting to the center link of the steering parts.

All the other OEM parts are 'lubed for life.' That usually makes 'em good for about 50,000 miles or so.

I forgot to mention that when Ford replaced my ball joints under warranty, I noticed the new Motorcraft ball joints have grease fittings.
