If your talking about the 6'' Pro Comp Stage 1 Lift, $2000 is a pretty good price including an alignment. the cheapest i ve seen the procomp was for like $1200 on ebay probably w/o shipping and installation here in NJ is close to $900 + another $90 for alignment,
Pro Comp stage 1 is fine for street use and light off roading anything more than that, id look into the fabtech or cst

Sounds like a decent deal, I could get Pro-comp right around $1100 or so w/ shipping, plus lets say $100 alignment and $600-$900 or so in labor and that would put you pretty close to $1999.00.
Sounds like a good buy. Is he/the shop going to back up their work ? give you some kind of warranty ? I would also look into that !

well the guy who is going to install the kit is the same guy who did my dads lift so im sure its worthy. he said the fabtech installed is like $2200.00 so if you think fabtech is a much better deal maybe i should spend the extra money? is 2200.00 a good price thanks all mercedestech your truck is beautiful

Hey, thanks man ! Always appreciate a compliment !
Well, now here is where your going to start getting some bias opinions thwon your way ! What do you plan on doing with your truck ? Light off-roading ? Pavement pounding ? Mud bogging ? You going to romp on it hard ? Have a heavy foot ? Like to throw that *** end around a little bit ?
Pro-Comp= Perfect for street IMO. Its definately made for the Mall Crawler. Someone who wants a nice looking lift, gets your truck up high, allows for bigger tires, but is not really meant for any hard abuse, or off-highway excursions. Now, plenty of people have run the Pro Comp stage 1, off road very hard, and have had no complaints, but by looking at the design, its only a matter of time before something goes wrong.
Fabtech has a little bit better quality IMO. Meant to take a bit more abuse and handle the rigors of off roading (better ***** not BEST)
So, it really comes down on you the driver and what you want out of your truck.

If I don't take my kit off and build a long travel kit, I will be doing the same: skidplate, traction bars and coilovers (probably King or Sway Away).

I just worry about axle wrap with the stacked blocks. Also, with those you usually have a "squat" look that I really dont like. What do you Pro-Comper's think about that ? How bad did your stage 1 squat ?
Also, I will admit (only this one time) Pro-Comp has a absolutely AWESOME looking front skid plate, that I would love to buy some day down the road just to see if I can figure out how to fab some tabs and mount it. But thats one of those "back burner" ideas !
Guys running the skid: Does it just bolt on ? Or do they use one of those "dovetail" type clamps ?
