Smile 2 Days work in the shop and im almost done...

Well i finaly found time to install my new beltec drop spindles... i spent 7 1/2 houres yesterday in the Auto shop here on base. i swaped the spindles, put the factory springs in, new break pads, new shocks, and new wheel bearings. I wasn't too happy with the way it sat afterward, it was about an inch higher then it did with the 3 inch drop coils i had on before. But I didnt want to tear it appart to fix it... so this morning i took it to get aligned and once there they took a look at it and told me i needed new Upper and lower ball joints so i got them and went back in... i tore it all appart and replaced the Upper and lower ball joints and while i had it all appart i took off the factory springs and cut one coil off each... so 5 hours later i have almost a compleatly new front end haha.... I am really happy with the way it sitts now... its about an inch lower then the way it was befor. so cutting one coil lowers about 2 inches... all i need now is an alignment, they cant get to it till monday after noon so i guess the truck is going to have to sitt this weekend. here is a before and after pictures

Before

After

And one while working

Sweet, just don't hang your calipers like that next time. It's no good on the brake lines.

It's not going to hurt anything thump as long as you don't swing them around

trust me almost anyshop you'll ever go into you'll never see someone hang a caliper

We take them off and let them hang gently.. sometimes i'll put it on top of the spindle

I don't understand how the hose could come loose..The bolt going into the caliper would not come loose just from hanging and the one up by the frame is bolted onto the hardline + a clip .. freakky

I usually wrap the caliper up with a bungee cord or similar to hold it something. I have no idea either. The hose was loose and the only reason why he found out was because it was leaking brake fluid out onto the concrete.

You love it now because of the look it gave your truck.
You will hate yourself later for not waiting for your truck to adjust

There are a lot of mixed opinions on cutting coils. However, after watching Chip Foose cut a set on an episode of Overhaulin', I'm not gonna say its wrong.
