Best Leveling Kit for 2007 F150 SC
All,
There's been a lot of discussion on 'extreme' leveling kits and lift kits and as a new member it is all very confusing to say the least. If a relatively new F150 owner is just looking to raise the front suspension to match that of the rear, (1) what is the correct height, and (2) what brand are you folks recommending
Thanks
I can't wait to level my truck

Hey, I wanted to do the same last winter. I used Autospring 2.5" level kit for the front and a 1.5 " in the back. Now my back is sitting 1/4" higher than the front. Looks nice. I also put 285/70/17 tires on as well, which gave it a little better look. Think I'm going to go with 285/75/18 after this winter.
I'd take some measurements first, you may not need one for the back. I wanted to get as high as I could without putting a lift kit in it. I needed some extra clearance for driving oil and logging roads to go hunting.

Thanks all - great info! Caper28 I may opt to go with the AS kit, I've seen it mentioned elsewhere; however, I did not realize that I could/should raise the rear too. Can you send pics so I can see what it looks like. If its only about 1/4" higher in the rear maybe i'll install a system like yours....thanks
Maybe sometime in 2010 I'll go for a full-blown lift kit; for now, I just want to level her out

miseroth I have an 04 fx4 screw. i went with the 2 inch AS up front. I had slightly over 3 inches of rake stock, after the 2 inch AS my rear sits only 1/2 inch higher. So, in my experience the 2 inch kit actually provides closer to 2 1/2 inches of lift. I didn't want the rear to sit even slightly lower than the front. I have 275/65/18 (32'') tires and plenty of clearance

Thanks all!
I went ahead and purchased the 2.5" AS kit from eBay. As soon as I get them on the truck I'll post pics and update my profile soon too. I'll make sure to take before and after pics as I am also getting ready to put my Winter tires on: Cooper Zeon LTZ's 275 60 20
Thanks for the great pic screw_firstdate

I personally am not a big fan of leveling kits at all. i think they are a cheap fast way to get that lift in the front, but from my experience they are going to cost you more time and money later on. I had a leveling kit on mine that i installed and was on somewhere close to maybe 10 or 11 months i believe. It ruined 1 upper ball joint completely (which ford replaced for me under warranty after i took the spacers off) and my other upper is in bad shape also. On top of that all the geometry and stock angles will be wrong. I know some people might not agree with me and some people are having good luck maybe, but i didn't, and wanted to throw this out there for people to think about before installing one. Suspension lift is the best way to go and you will not ever regret it.

Basically if your truck is a pavement cruiser and you use 4x4 sparingly, ie. you don't go in 4 and off road all the time, a 2.5" spacer is fine. Keep in mind your cv's aren't rotating on the NBS (04+, not sure about Heritage or earlier) until you lock into 4 wheel. AS seems to be the most common brand, but Truxxx and Hell Bent Steel are both good products.
