so...it better be a 2wd, because your 4wd system is going to be pointless on 44" tires. Your CV shafts WILL not be able to handle that.

 

Whiplash has a 14 inch kit for 3200ish with rear leafs.

Full throttle has a 14 inch kit .... no idea on the price and I bet those guys don't give you leafs knowing them. They say the lift alone will fit 42's.

bullet proof has a 12er.

The Whiplash or full throttle and a body lift will fit 44's or bigger.

These kits will destroy your truck. My brother has a bigger FT on his chevy and over the years of driving twisty mountain highways it has ripped and cracked his cross members and frame mounts.

 

x2 on the cv shafts... imo, whatever that's worth, these IFS trucks aren't built for anything bigger than about 8'' and 37's if you intend to actually offroad. even then, you'll run into some problems. if you want to actually USE your truck, I'd do the tried and true 6'' and 35's, 8'' and 37's max.

if you want to go bigger, a SAS is the only reliable way to do so that won't break your truck.

 

By the time you do a SAS why not just get an F350 and have all the torque of a diesel to push those tires

Sorry guys, I havent been home to get on the internet. I want to do the biggest possible for my truck with the amount I am able to spend (christmas bonus) of 5 G. I will only drive this truck on road. I have a company truck that I put about 6000 miles a month on, so this will just be my sunday truck. I have always dreamed of having a so called monster truck. Mine is a 4.6 with a 273 rear end i believe bought in virginia.

I know this isnt the right motor or rear end. just want to have a big truck...lol

for 5G's its going to be very limited.

you looking at probably a 6" with 35's and regeared.

6" Procomp~around $1300
Tires~ about $1200
Wheels~ $600
Regearing ~ $1500
Thats about $4600 plus an install for the kit.
So there is what 5G's will get you.

With that gearing and motor size i dont think yor truck can really turn anything that big without messing your trans up. So your pretty limited with your price range and your truck.

 

Dude, how's your fabbing skills ? Sheet metal work ? Welding ? machine work ? You got the tools ? For $5k, you could build a SAS pretty easily. You are not going to be able to pay someone to do it though.

You can find a 14 bolt Full float rear pretty cheap. Dana 60 fronts (king pin) are harder to find, but you can. Dana 60 is the smallest I would go. With 44" tires, you might want chromo inside, but thats gunna cost you big bucks. Get the axles, then start looking into fabbing up the suspension. I would personally run something like a 4 link front and rear, with coils out of something like a Tahoe, and then run some high quality shocks. That would be fairly cheap, and pretty easy, IF you have the tools, space, and know how. If not, then your simply dreaming bud.

14 bolt - $200
Dana 60 front -$800

Linkage - $800 ish (depends what joint you use, and what tubing)

coils - junkyard baby ! Find em used, price has a huge range.

shocks- $ whatever is left over. Keep in mind, gunna need custom steering linkage, and driveshafts. I would think the shafts would be about $200 or so for the rear and $ 400 or more for the front.

Steering-- $ ?? I would have to look into that. Not sure whatcha got around your area for fab shops, but they could probably do it for you. Not sure on price.

Or you could go full hydro steering (check local laws for legality. Legal most places) those kits run about $1,200 or so.

Also, don't expect it to be over night. It will take time, money, blood sweat and tears. Things will come up you didn't plan for, and you'll always go over budget, but well worth it in the end !

If you buy a lift, go Fabtech (not Pro-crap). Same price and FAR better quality IMO.

** also, yes your truck could turn those tires no problem. Would need to re-gear whatever axles you run, might want to look into gearing the T-case as well, or running a doubler set-up.

 

Go for a look like Hash's truck, or there is a member with a reg. cab and a rize 8". Both look killer

I really want a nice looking truck, but dont have time to work on it myself. how much bigger would 35 inch mud grapplers look like on my truck with stock rims? does anyone have a photo?

 

get a 12 rize or 12in bullet proof or a 14in Full Trottle. add a 2.5in coil spacer, then a 3in body, that would easily be enough.
Tires you can buy military tires for like 300 for all 4, their 46in with 20in rim..
Does this make since? 12 in.+2.5in.+3in.= 17.5in. of lift..
