I asked the guy that installed my gears in my mustang (very good mechanic) how much he would charge to install some gears in my truck and he said around 200 bucks. Then i asked a separate guy that works at the shop and his reply was 200-300 dollars. He also said that the mustang and f150 rear end is different but not 1000 dollars worth of installation different. He giggled. He said if someone will pay it then he will take it! lol! 1500 dollars for gears is ridiculous!!!

well, i ve been doing some research and it turns out New Jersey lift laws suck.
they only allow 11'' Total. lift + tires
3 in body lift
6 in pro comp
38's - 6 in over stock size (32)
puts me at 15 lol
so im thinkin mayb the 4in rancho and 37's, i can sneak by with.
3 in body lift
4 in rancho
37 's
equals 12

Make sure that you check with the lift kit manufacturer about fitment specs for their lift kits. Most lift kits recommend an 8" wide wheel with no more than 5" of backspacing. With 5.25", your wheels and tires may not even bolt up to the truck. With my Fabtech kit, I used a 9" wide wheel with 4.625" of backspacing. The wheels and tires stick out from under the truck.
