Newbie leveling question

I have a 2002 F150 4.2L 2WD and would like to level the truck by raising the front end. There are a couple kits out there(Daystar Coil Spring Spacers & Trailmaster) I am leaning towards the trailmaster, but I am afraid both kits will reduce the quality of the ride. A friend suggested installing some Rancho Shocks in addition to the coil spacers. Any suggestions/alternatives?

I would love to hear any other new ideas for raising the front end.

Sorry if this topic has been beat to death already. I just want to be damn sure before I shell out any money.

Thanks.

2wd, no torsion bars. The daystar is tried and true, many many people have used it and have been fine. You don't need to replace the shocks with a leveling kit, but might as well since you'll have the front end apart anyway. They'll improve the ride, but once again, are NOT necessary.

If I do replace the shocks would they need to be any longer than the OEM?

Another question, does Autospring make a kit for my particular model? I seem to be unable to find any information on Autospring other than lots of people are using them now.

I don't believe AS makes a spacer for the 97-03 4x2's. I'd go with the Daystar spacers because they are a proven product and honestly, Trailmaster doesn't have the best reputation. The Daystar spacers won't hurt your ride quality. Like Countrypunk said, you don't need to replace the oem shocks, but it would be a good upgrade. You will need standard oem length shocks.

Thanks for all the help. I think I'll go ahead with the Daystar then, and throw on some Rancho RS5000 shocks.

The Daystar looks exactly like the Explorer Pro Comp that I ran on my truck. With polyurethane, you don't have metal on metal rubbing.
