Newbie 2WD leveling height, rim/tire question

Hey guys i have frequented the Lightning forum but am glad to say im now a 06 f150 supercab xlt 2wd owner...and am not very familiar with lifting...

I looked through alot of threads and it sounds like theres some pretty knowledgable guys in here on suspension..so what is the actual height difference between a 2wd and a 4wd supercab?

The setup i'm wanting to do is the 2.5" autospring, 295/60/(18 or 20), and some 9 in. wide 18's or 20's, havent decided yet.

I'm gonna go with the nitto terra's on xd hoss blacks

any thoughts or comments?

thanks guys

The 4wd are approx. 2" taller than the 2wd.

Stock level on my 2wd I have 285/60/18 (31.5") tires with lots of room to spare. I would probably just level the front and thats it, I would try doing a search on leveling. Probably just a 2" spacer that goes in front.

i've got a custom ordered 4inch AS spacer and 3inch AS rear block to give my truck the same height as leveled 4WD.

look at the mirror height difference, my "lifted" 2wd w/stock 265/70/17(31.5") tires next to stock 2wd KR w/stock 275/55/20(32.2")tire. After alignment it netted me 4 1/8 inch lift up front.

Could you please post some pics of your ball joint/control arm angles?

That's what I was thinking. I'm surprised they got it bolted together.
Jmt0645, we're not trying to be a-holes or anything, but we've seen people have premature ball joint failure with 3 inch leveling kits. Heck, ball joints do't last extremely long with 2.5 kits. I'm just curious to see how bad the angles are with your spacer.

It's all good Wandell, 2wd have same basic front end as 4wd, just the struts are 2 inches shorter, with 4inch AS (2 3/8" actual size) it gives a 2wd the same height as 4wd with 2in AS. I've had it for over a year now no issues.

not the best pic, but no worse angle than a 4wd with 2in AS. as for install, simple, took about 1.5-2 hours for both sides, everything fit without issue.

I questioned how the 4x4's sit higher in the front than the 2x4's and I was told the strut mounts are in different locations as well as the control arms. How did you find out this information?

AS's cost $220 shipped for custom front front and 3inch rear block. it's good to have friends at your local dealer collision center for information.
